Fun with Santa ~ Denver Photographer

This is “our” Santa Claus and he is the BEST ever! Mia’s picture has been taken with him every year. Last year we tried extremely hard to get out to the Zoo to see him, but it was just too cold, and we were not able to connect with him so Mrs. Claus so graciously invited us to “Santa’s House” for pictures. Before we left she suggested we make it a yearly thing, as it was SO much easier than trying to chase him around. Mia needs a little more attention than the Mall Santa’s allow, she needs time to warm up. It just so happens that “our Santa” is my cousin’s Grandpa, therefore; he is always at our Christmas Day festivities with the family. If this year is anything like last, I will need to apologize to Santa because Mia will follow him around the entire day on Christmas. :) Other than my Cousin’s family and Mine there were a few other’s there for Santa pictures, and a few of them gave me permission to share their pictures here. Thank You Santa, we will see you again in a week!

ACK!!! I'm head spinning busy with a TO~DO list a mile long!!!

It’s been a while since I’ve posted about my Lil Sister but she’s home on break for a month and spent some time with us yesterday. I wanted to play with some new gear, but wanted to wait til about 4:30pm to do so. It was soo cold when we headed out then it started to get wet and snow on us so we had to wrap up in about 15 min. Here are a few photos we got, they make me LAUGH! We had no idea when to JUMP in relation to the timer :)

Sweet Sisters ~ Westminster Newborn Photographer

I spent the afternoon a few Sundays ago with the family of these darling sisters. Big sister turned two just 11 days before her little sister’s arrival. Both of them are as sweet as can be and were complete angels during our quite lengthy session. Mom and dad thanks for letting me squat for the entire afternoon! I am beyond EXCITED to announce MiMi Photography’s very first Boudoir Marathon! I have secured the Omni Suite at the Omni Interlocken Resort in Broomfield for the event, and let me tell you…. This suite is one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen!! Each session will be 45 minutes and can include up to two outfit changes. Prior to your session your hair and makeup will be done professionally. The Sassy Factory will also be there with a fabulous selection of accessories to accompany the outfits you bring. The jewelry will also be for sale, and it is so reasonably priced that I guarantee you will walk out of there with your favorite piece, if not more. :)

We will start hair and make up at 3PM on Sunday the 9th with the last hair and make up appointment at 8:15PM. Monday will begin at 8AM with the last appointment at 11AM. Sister Sister ~ Brighton Portrait Photographer

This is one of my Beautiful younger sisters and her family. I was excited to hear that my sis and her hubby were going to get in on some photos, since I have just been photographing lil E over the last year and a half. And I was thrilled when she suggested my fav urban location :) Our first date got Pink Eyed out, and we were sort of forced into a week day session. Typically week day sessions are not a big deal, but the sun is setting sooner these days and they live all the way up in Ft. Collins. I'm glad it all worked out, because I got some really cute stuff! Last weekend I got to meet this lovely family at one of my FAVORITE locations to shoot. The session included 5 generations! I believe that family portraits are so very important to have and be able to look back at as the years go by. Mom and Dad have five kiddos, with only the oldest out of the house. You never know what the weather is going to be like more than “maybe” a day or two ahead of time here in CO, and October is NO exception. The weather held out and Mom was able to get all 14 people’s schedules to align for this moment. I am honored to document such a moment in time when two Great Great Grandmother’s are able to spend cherished moments with their Great Great Grandchildren. Sorry I am a bit late with the sneak peek!! Expecting ~ Brighton Custom Portrait Photographer

J and I met back in High School, but for some reason she and I lost touch with each other. We reconnected via Face Book this past spring, and immediately met for lunch to catch up on each other’s lives. I told her that I had married the guy I was dating back when we last hung out and that the two of us have a darling daughter, and she told me all about this sweet guy she had been dating. Since then they have gotten engaged and pregnant! I think she thinks I jinxed her :) but isn’t too upset about it. This past weekend was the first time I met B, and let me tell you these two are one Hawt couple! Well you can see that for your self… Their little boy is going to be D.A.R.L.I.N.G. and I can not wait to meet him! Their lil man is due on Christmas day! Fall is in the air ~ Brighton Custom Portrait Photographer

Yesterday we took a nice laid back drive up to the mountains to see the turning Aspin Tree leaves. Some of the leaves in my area are already starting to turn and even fall off of the trees! Fall is definitely here, I think it’s “official” arrival was on the 22nd. I think that the next two weekends are going to be BEAUTIFUL up in the mountains, but I will be busy with Holiday Mini Sessions. We got a late start yesterday due to a few different things, but we were not on a real schedule so it didn’t matter much. On the north side of Lyons we decided to go left and take the “Peak to Peak Highway” south bound. We pulled over along the highway for a few photos of the beautiful yellow leaves, and stopped in Ward for a bathroom break. Once we hit Nederland we came back East and down thru Boulder. It was a beautiful drive, but I think we were a tad early, and I didn’t get to see any orange/red leaves that I LOVE so much!! I am sure that I will see some around town over the next month so it’s “ok” I suppose :)

I want to say "Hi!" to all of the lovely folks I met up in Frederick last Saturday at their annual Miners Day celebration. I think that this year’s was the largest ever, as I was told that there were a lot of last minute vendors being added to the bunch. There was a parade, AWESOME food vendors, live music, and activities for all to enjoy. I want to say a very special “Thank You” to my dear friend Marci who has deemed herself my “booth buddy” :) She is one of the oldest friends I have, and I don’t mean age wise, as she is only two days older than I am. Marci and I have known each other for quite some time now, I am her hamberger and she is my patty. OK that was VERY cheesy and something only she will get :) Tuesday November 16^th I will have probably the last booth set up of the year, and will give you all of the details as soon as I know the exact location and time. It will be an event you won’t want to miss!

I will close this blog post with the details of the Holiday Mini Sessions that we are currently booking! If you are interested in one of these sessions be sure to book soon, as the space is limited and starting to fill up! These sessions are 30min mini sessions with NO session fee, and will take place October 2^nd, 10^th, & 16^th. There are some morning and evening sessions available. The town of Frederick has a Miners Day Celebration each year in celebration of the community’s mining heritage. This year they will have a two-day hot-air balloon rally, a parade, exhibitor and craft booths, food & refreshments, activities, contests and live entertainment. The evening will close with a concert and fireworks. I am including a SCHEDULE OF EVENTS for you to plan your day by, hehe! Stop by my booth and book your session for a “Same Day Booking” gift.

Little Man ~ Brighton Newborn Photographer

I met Lil R’s mommy back in May, I believe, at Thornton’s annual Thornton Fest. This session has been planned for some time now, and let me tell you it was great! R is such a chill Lil Man and I spent 5 hours w/him, because he was so relaxed, mommy and I put him and on just about everything I brought with me. R’s big sister Hanna, who makes an appearance in two of these images :) was SO well behaved that I often forgot she was even there. R was just 4lbs 12oz when he was born two days past his EDD, so next to the twins I reticently spent some time with he’s one of the smallest babes I’ve photographed.

Mom, Dad, it was fantastic to see you again, thank you for inviting me into your home to spend some time w/your Lil Man! Sorry that I loitered for so long, but I still say it’s all your fault :) I will work on a few things/products we discussed this afternoon and get your gallery up shortly!

Tough Crowd ~ Denver Metro Area Children’s Photographer

OH LORD!!! This was my toughest session to date! X wanted absolutely nothing to do with my camera, and beautiful J wasn’t too sure about it either. Mom booked this session during the Market Days event here in Brighton, the last time I had a booth, and since she took advantage of booking that very day she scored the AWESOME same day booking gift. She will receive a complimentary set of Mini Accordion Albums with her completed order. Don’t worry, I’ll announce another event taking place next month where you too can take advantage of this awesome offer! But back to X & lil sis J for now :) There was a period of time during our session when X ran around (away from me) with his tongue sticking out, how it made me laugh! When mom would set J down barefoot she LOVED it!!! I’ve never seen a baby react to the ground as she did, and OMG was it ever cute! She would kick her feet back and forth in the dirt, rocks, bark, or grass, did I mention how cute this was?!?! Mom enjoy your sneak peek, and I’ll have your complete gallery up in just a few days.

Happy Birthday Grandpa ~ Denver Metro Area Portrait Photographer

Today is my Grandpa’s birthday!!! :) I wanted to wish him a HAPPY BIRTHDAY thru my blog today because I want everybody to know how much he means to me! With out him MiMi Photography would NOT be where it is today! There have been a lot of other people who have helped me immensely to this point, but my grandpa is my biggest fan and no doubt supporter! He has provided me with darn near ALL of my gear, computer equipment, software and books. He has invested more money into my lil business than I have and probably close to as much time, as he is my biggest blog stalker ( just ahead of lil sister hehe ) My husband and daughter also cherish this man dearly, as he is a big part of our lives. For a bit over a year Mia and I flew down to TX for visits about every 3-6 weeks, and I'm thrilled that he and my grandma are such active parts of Mia’s life. My grandparents are two of my best friends and I'm glad to have them.

I don’t have too many pictures of my grandpa, but all that I do have of him also frame little Mia as well, which makes my heart smile.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDPA!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!

For the past two days I’ve been uber busy and have spent the majority of my time on my rear in my office. Thankfully my daughter is such a wonderful little girl! She has spend the time with me in my office, in her room or in her play room, which are both with in 10 feet of my office. Well she’s been in her bathroom right next to my office for about an hour. I hear her banging around here and there and running water from time to time. All is well because I hear her and she is SOO good! I just peeked in on her and see that barbies are having a pool party :)

Newborn Casting Call ~ Denver Metro Area Newborn Photographer

I had so much fun playing with the little boys from the last post that we are now holding a casting call for Newborn Multiples! Are you or someone you know having or just had Twins or Triplets? Do you want Custom Newborn Portraits? I am offering, thru the end of September, 3 Newborn Sessions. The Session Fee will be waived and you will receive a complimentary 12x12 Storyboard, a $130 value!

All babies must be home by September 30th, as the session must be completed by this date. I will come to you for this session, and you must be willing to sign a Model Release. Newborn Sessions are held any day of the week starting around 11am, they do take a few hours, especially with twins so be prepared to spend the afternoon at home.

Little L & L are the newest addition to my neighborhood, well as far as I know but I only know about 8 families in the area ;-P
These lil guys are so sweet and content, mom and dad got lucky! As most twins are, these guys were preemies and spent some time in the hospital after they were born. Both are doing quite well and it will be no time before they are chasing my little girl around.

Good Times ~ Denver Metro Area Senior Portrait Photographer

Tonight I met up with K and her mom for last minute Senior Portraits. I'm thrilled that we were able to make it happen for K, and I had a blast! We chatted the entire session as if we had been girl friends for ever, and even hung out for close to an hour after the sun had gone down. K has plans to peruse a degree in graphic design, or something similar after High School. Many of you know that’s what my little sister is at Up State studying as well. I also found out her older brother has aspirations to serve our great country in the military, and become a pilot.

The time of your life ~ Denver Metro Area Senior Portrait Photographer

Meet Z, he is another local High School Senior, and enjoys most things “outdoors.” Z and his father spend quite a bit of their spare time outdoors fishing. Mom's only stipulation when it came to his senior portraits was that there couldn’t be anything that was fishing related, she told me that just about every picture she has of her son is with a fish, pole, or both in his hand. We did go to Barr Lake for his session, but mom approved of that, haha! It just so happens that Z is my neighbor, and Mia has grown quite fond of him over the past few weeks :) When I was editing this sneak peek she walked into the office and exclaimed “THAT’S MY NEIGHBOR!” in her excited little 3yr old voice.

Jersey Boys ~ Denver Metro Area Portrait Photographer

These two DARLING little guys are here from NJ visiting their lovely grandma. Maybe referring to them as Jersey boys isn’t “correct” but sounds good to this born and raised Colorado girl, hehe!

A & J’s mommies are besties, and from what I hear have been for quite some time. I don’t know them but I think they are as best of best friends as you can be with someone, after all they were pregnant at the same time with their now 6yr old lil GQ models. And get this……. A & J were born ON THE SAME DAY!!! How crazy is that? I have never had a life long best friend that I grew up with and I think what these two little boys have because of their mother’s friendship is one of the neatest things ever.

This session was so much fun, the boys were great in front of the camera, so cute, I smiled the entire time. I hope all that are anticipating these images love them as much as I do, and grandma thank you for sharing your darling little guys with me for a bit!

I had to share this little outtake. Some times you don’t know you captured a moment until the images are uploaded to your computer. This one makes me laugh.

Over the past few weeks I have been SO incredibly busy with various little things that have added up to a lot of work. Many late nights have paid off and I finally have my head above water. I have noticed some of you have been blog stalking the past week or so and have not been greeted with anything new, for that I apologise!

Holiday Mini Portrait sessions, and High School Senior sessions are still being booked, so if you are in need of either lets chat!

This Saturday the 14th, I'm going to have another booth! Brighton’s Market Day 2010 will be from 10am-4pm located at the Cultural Center in Downtown Brighton (300 Strong St.) Among the vendors there will be produce from local growers, live entertainment, and free kid’s activities. Twin Two ~ Denver Metro Area Senior Portrait Photographer

Last night I meet up w/J for his Senior Portrait Session, and let me tell you it.was.a.blast! J was really into his session, as was I. We started in one area of our location to get some shots with his twin sister, then we moved to the best part of the location. I scouted out this area when my Grandma was in town a few weeks ago, and couldn’t wait to come back w/a client. When J’s mom said he had suggested this location I was THRILLED! Tho his other location choice would have been cool too :) J was a natural in front of my camera and I just love that he was full of ideas and suggestions. J you were a blast to work with! And J it was nice to see you again, my camera loves you :)

Cousins ~ Denver Metro Area Children Photographer

These two beautiful kiddos are not cousins to each other, but they are cousins to Miss Mia. So that makes them my niece and nephew. This evening we hit up two of the awesome locations I found when my sister was home, but they had changed quite a bit in the month since I’d been there with her. The first location’s weeds were so tall we couldn’t do anything, and quickly moved on to the second. Here there were not any more wild flowers, and some of the tall grass had been mowed. It has been hot the past few weeks and things were also dryer, but that didn’t stop us. We spend the rest of the evening there and played a bit at the playground after the sun had gone too far down to shoot. Enjoy your sneak peek, I’ll have the rest ready shortly!

Twin One ~ Denver Metro Area Senior Photographer

Meet J! She is the most darling high school senior ever! I first met her when she stopped by my booth at the local Culturefest last month. She and two of her friends entered my drawing for a complimentary session and collection package. A few weeks later Miss Mia pulled J’s name out of the drawing bowl and she was our winner!!
I called mom to fill her in on all of the details, she was surprised, but pleasantly I think. I too was surprised, as J is a twin. She has a twin brother also in need of Senior Portraits. You and I will meet him next week!
I met mom and J Friday night at a FANTASTIC location, per mom’s suggestion. It was O-so hot but we had fun walking around and chatting a bit. J is too sweet and cute! Mom told me that J was extremely nervous, but she didn’t need to be photographing her was a dream.

It's already been a year ~ Denver Metro Area Family Photographer

Saturday morning I met up with this lil man’s family for this year’s portraits. When mom contacted me about this summer’s session I was thrilled. You see I took lil B’s newborn portraits last summer and I was excited to see how much he has grow and changed over the past year. He sure has changed, but is still as cute as ever! During the session I would look at the image play back on my camera from time to time and noticed lil B is a blinker. His mommy told me that he takes after her, but I didn’t get any blinks from her only lil B and his daddy, hehe.

Lil B is ALL BOY! I had so much fun watching him explore his surroundings; he loved everything on the ground, and was so good about not putting any of it into his mouth. When it came time to get together for some family portraits he wasn’t too happy, as he just wanted to be on the ground exploring our awesome location!

Calling all High School Seniors! ~ Denver Metro Area Senior Photographer

The school year is quickly approaching, as summer comes to a close. Many local High Schools are requiring your yearbook submission to be turned in early September! If you have been putting off your session, DON’T do it any longer! Let’s get your session booked ASAP! My availability is filling up quickly and we need to get your portraits done by the end of August to meet the September deadline! If your school’s deadline isn’t until October, you still shouldn’t wait until the last minute, book now!

I hope that everybody had a nice and relaxing 4th of July weekend, as I did, and that you kept dry on the 4th. It’s hard to believe we are approaching the school year already. My little sister goes back to SC on Saturday and I’m bumming BIG time! But I’m excited to see what she does this Volley Ball season, as I know it will be GREAT things! I am sure she isn’t the only one getting geared up for college life. If you have a child going off to college now is a great time to document your family, so let’s get your family session on the books too!

A Dream~ Denver Metro Area Family Photographer

When Mom e-mailed me about family portraits I got super excited, and even more so when she was up for an urban session at a location I have been wanting to shot again.
I am LOVING where we live, there are so many awesome places that just beg me to have my next set of clients to.
I could have spent all morning with these three down town, they are a photographer's dream, but sweet lil S was getting tuckered out and let us know that the session was over. It wasn’t over soon enough for Dad, he isn’t a fan of “pictures”, but he is my cousin and would have stayed as long as I wanted him to. He and his brother both, have the most photogenic better halves, with smiles to die for!

Rain Rain Go Away ~ Denver Metro Area Children Photographer

I was supposed to meet these lil cuties two weeks ago. Three days before our session, I just happen to drive by our location and see a huge CDOT sign saying the road would be closed all weekend. When I got home I called the city who called CDOT for me and confirmed the entrance, to the perfect location I just found earlier this month, would be closed. ACK! I drove around the park for about 20 min and determined that we would just have to walk too far to lug my toy chest and a few other props around. I was so in love with the location, and mom knew it so she sweetly suggested we reschedule for this weekend. Our first session was destined to be canceled, as the entire weekend was full of awful weather!
Fast forward to yesterday. Mom makes a lil comment about the sky early afternoon. Being only 5 mins from our location I wasn’t worried. It was hot out, and overcast w/beautiful fluffy white clouds and heavenly blue skies. We were to meet at 6pm but I saw it may shower at 6; it had cooled down and was overcast so I called to see if we could move our appointment up, and we did by an hour.
I leave my house with the same beautiful skies we had a few hours ago and head to our location, when I see awful skies just past the park and it was moving our way. “ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!” I was saying in my head as I called mom to suggest another location on the other side of town that had nice clear skies.
Long story longer… We both change directions and meet up at the new location. Mom and Dad quickly get the kiddos ready, we unloaded the props, headed to a field and put the kiddo’s backs to the pretty blue skies. But after only a short while we started to get sprinkled on, and with the skies rolling in from the west we decided to pack it up. We looked at samples and contemplated weather or not the sky would clear up or not. In the end mom decided it best to reschedule, as it was getting closer and closer to bed time, and we really want nice skies and pretty light.
The upside to all of this?!?! I got to meet these three blond darlings, and… we found yet ANOTHER fantastic location, that we are going back to next month when we meet again.
Mom spent all the time getting the kiddos ready for the session (and if you’ve ever had a custom portrait photography session with little ones, you know what that can entail, from clothes shopping, to hair cuts, to ensuring kiddos are well rested, packing up the car, driving across town to the perfect location your photographer is in love with) it would be cruel not to share some of the moments I was able to capture.

I spent a few hours last night with these adorable 18 month old twins and their parents. These two had us chasing them all over the park, giving me a little glimpse into mom and dad’s life with two busy toddlers. By the time I got home I was pooped! Princess E was so cute and sweet, pulling out a few smiles and poses for me. Mr. M is all boy! He kept wanting to explore and walk around in the taller untamed areas of the park, and wasn’t too interested in having his photo taken. I hope you all enjoy your sneak peek!

Bigger really *is* BETTER ~ Denver Metro Area Portrait Photographer

This is a cross post from another photographer’s blog. I think it provides some good information regarding the size of images you intend to purchase from your session. I want my clients to walk away happy with what they purchased, I want their images to have a home before they are chosen. I encourage my clients to walk around their home and look for an area they would like to display their moments (the moments captured at your session). Maybe it’s the wall in the living room, a hallway or entry way, maybe it’s your bed room or babies’ room, or maybe you have an area you want to build onto year after year. What ever it may be, I want your memories and moments up on your walls, to “make your heart smile” as the photographer whose blog I am sending you to says. As I edit your images my heart is smiling, most everything about this job that I have makes my “heart smile” and I want yours to smile too! Large photographs can’t help but make the heart smile, that’s what I believe they are intended for.

Back on June 5th I had a booth at the local Culturefest here in Brighton. My wonderful husband made me a fantastic backboard to mount samples on, and my awesome little sister sat with me all day. Thankfully the heat was only awful for a few of the eight we were there. Thank you hubby and sissy for all you did to help me with the booth! I will be setting up a booth at another area’s town festival in September, and I know my sister’s disappointed that she won’t be here for it. HEHE just kidding! I’m sure she’d rather be off in South Carolina playing Volley Ball for her college than sitting in the heat bored out of her mind, any day.

As many of you knew, and all of you will know after reading the next line, that I decided to give away a complimentary session and a collection to a lucky winner. To all who entered, I’m sorry it has taken me so long to draw the winner. I wanted my daughter to pick the winner out of the bowl, and today was the first day since the Culturefest that she was both cleaned up enough for pictures, and willing to do the drawing at the same time.

i will try not to do much rambling in this post :) key word here is "try"

first thing i'd like to ramble about is our digital packages! we have finally released them, and i'm quite excited about it! i hope you are too. each one will come with a personalized disk and home for the disk, as well as reference prints for each image chosen. there are three tiers; choose any 5 ~ $340, choose any 10 ~ $580, or get them all ~ $860. easy and simple!

last week the fam went with me location scouting, i had driven by an open area on my way home from a networking event on tuesday night and spotted it, but didn't have my camera so we went back. the area is great! and has the best playground i've EVER seen!

i was playing around with my flash the other night and dragging the shutter, something i like to do from time to time, but i don't always have the best subjects in the house, but two of my pups humored me this last time.

last i will leave you with some images of my flowers. i was out playing wth my macro lens the day before the awful rain and hail last week. i don't think my flowers will ever recover :(

Sunday's session was suppose to be a family afair but dad played hookie, so it turned into just about the kiddos. Lil Miss H is just about to turn one and her big brother C is three. My little sister is home for a short time on summer break. She plays volleyball for her college, and since that is a fall sport she has to go back mid summer to start pre-season training. That makes me sad, but I am SO proud of her!

I had driven by this location for two years, and every time I wanted to stop and scout it out. It is a neat little abandoned barn. Because it is abandoned it is, unfortunately, not the safest place. I am SO bummed!!! I have a few little clients I would love to get out here, but it's just too dangerous, with all of the junk layin around.

I love to scout new locations tho! I am going to take advantage of my sister's vacation and put her to work scouting them with me over the next week. {she doesn't know this yet, well now that she's read this post she does hehe!}

It's starting to warm up nicely here in Colorado. My calendar is starting to fill up so if you are interested in a spring/early summer session lets chat soon!!

Mia got a few cool kiddie sprinklers for her birthday last month and we were able to bust one out today!

We walked around the back yard looking for dandelions to make a wish on. We should have gone to the park for this, I SO don't need more dandelions in my back yard.

As we were in the back yard she heard the ice cream man and asked if I had any money. Well Mommy didn't have any cash so we went to her piggy bank. I told her that times like this are why we save money. She loved that she got to pay for the ice cream with the money she saved.

Our back yard is on a bit of a slant. Oops Mommy put the sprinkler directly up the hill from a dirt patch, that is now mud! It only made for more spring fun!

I got to spend a little bit of my Sunday afternoon with this lil darling. A just turned one, and isn't she the cutest lil 1yr old? Spring weather is always hard to predict, but we did our best with what we were given. Lil A was such a trooper in the chilly air. When I showed up to our location it started to sprinkle and was a bit windy off and on, so I got worried. Mom thought we should give it a try so we rushed around the garden and A cooperated SOOO well! I couldn't have had a better model, and you'd never know by the portraits that it was chilly. It was wonderful to meet lil A, her mommy and grandma, and I hope you all enjoy your sneak peek!

Lil Miss E turned One last month, and today couldn't have been a more beautiful day for her One Year Portraits. I have photographed E since she was born, and it's been so fun to see her grow over the past year. E is always so serious, but today I caught some smiles! Baby smiles (other than those caused by gas as infants) are always so funny, and way over the top. None of these images are of her smiling, but promise I finally got some! This session has been my most favorite by far w/Lil E over the past year.

Last weekend I had my first commercial shoot! An old co-worker of mine does some really neat laser engraving and etching, and asked me about doing some product shots for him. I had no idea he needed them "yesterday" and I thought it was a hypothetical question he was asking. As the conversation went on he told me about a new product he was going to be launching early April, so this meant we needed to get together ASAP for the shots. All worked out for the weekend following our conversation and we got the images needed. It was a little difficult for me when we got into the "life style" images because I struggled with seeing the play back on my camera's LCD of blurry faces. As a portrait photographer, faces are what I capture best! I would like to thank Kurt for getting me involved with this project! And now on to the product!

My sister was home on winter break. She is a freshman at the University of South Carolina Upstate. I'm glad she is doing well that far from home but I sure do miss her! She is always wanting me to take her picture, so we had a mini session. It was too cold to venture out with a 2yr old in tow for some urban portraits, so we made due at my house.

One of my last posts announced a price increase for Dec 1st, however; my husband and bought a house. We closed the day before Thanksgiving and moved that weekend. The past few weeks have been a bit crazy, to say the least. I hope to have the prices and products updated by the first of the new year.

This darling lil princess turned two last month. Our original session had to be rescheduled because it was ohh soo cold!!! We met up for our rescheduled session at Berry Patch Farms in Brighton. The owners are oh so sweet, but they have one big bird that gave us a lil chase. I got completely freaked out and away from it a few times haha!

we had to change this session due to the forecast! here in CO you just can never tell what's going to happen, and i hate to reschedule so far in advance. BUT... when they call for weather below 50 and snow all of that goes out the window! i'm SOO glad we made the decision we did. the highs for the day of our session were in the low 70s and it was quite nice for our session. it got chilly as we wrapped up and snowed the next day.

on to this awesome family! can you believe these two love birds have 7 children?!?! thursday night i had the chance to meet up with a really great high school senior for a portrait session. his mom told me that he just wanted her to take a picture of him for the year book, and he told me he was fine with a picture from his face book page. i was a little worried that this would be a tough session. thankfully i was WRONG! I had the pleasure of photographing this fun family yesterday! They were having a mini family reunion at my client's home. All of her siblings were going to be in town so she wanted to document the moment. We were able to get all of her children, all, but one, grand children and her two great grand babies together for portraits as well. When this darling little guy's mommy contacted me about a newborn session, I warned her that we may not get as many of the "typical" sleeping moments of a newborn, as B is a month old. I packed up my daughter and my point n'shoot camera this afternoon to set out and scout new sites. I am going to add a client area to my web site and I would like to include pictures and maps of locations to assist with their decision as to where they would like their portrait session to take place.

These pictures were taken at a pond that I went to a few times with my dad when I was a little girl. My husband and I drove by it on our way to my birthday dinner (back in may) and I then mentioned it would be a beautiful place for a session. To that he replies "it's a golf course" and he is half right... Over the past few years houses and a golf course have gone up around the pond. But the lil beauty is still there and nicely bordered by a walking path and beautiful lush vegetation.

I drove by this place after my daughter’s 2yr check up (again last month), and it instantly caught my eye! I didn’t even know this reservoir existed! When I got home I looked it up on google maps and saw that there use to be a tall chain link fence around it w/tall weeds blocking the view of the water. Well it has been COMPLETELY redone and I couldn’t be more excited to have a session here!!!!!!! This just may happen in the next week! Today was my third attempt to see the area. First was on our way to the dinner mentioned above, but when we got there it was raining sideways! The second attempt was foiled by hail and a sleeping baby. Today as I pulled up it was sprinkling and yet again the baby was sleeping... OH NO!!! I sat in the car for a bit talking to my grandma until my daughter woke up. I am so glad I was persistent. Tall grass, rocks, awesome fences, steps, water, a fishing dock, a dry creek bed (tho I suppose that may fill at any time) and tall mature trees… what else could I ask for?!?! Maybe some wild flowers, but sadly we just don’t have many of those here, so I’m thankful for what it has! Sorry this is a total pic overload but I’m beyond EXCITED!!!!!!!

I had the best time playing w/lil E this afternoon. The forecast called for cloudy sky's all day. 6pm was the ideal time but since we have had rain most afternoons and evenings the past few weeks we decided any time would work w/the overcast skys. well it was NOT overcast when we set up for the session, but worked with the high direct sunlight anyhow. The session took place at lil E's GG's house, who has a FAB 8 acres on a golf course that they OWN! I have received permission to shoot on the course, on their 8 acres and even their fab deck for future sessions!! I couldn't be more excited about that. Thanks GG!!! Oh and I was fed lunch :) an all around perfect afternoon! Hope all enjoy the lil sneak peek.

I had the pleasure of meeting up with these three beautiful sisters today. All of them have perfect skin, teeth and hair. They were up for anything and made the session a breeze!
